Time To Plan!

Hello McPhie Temple Square family! It is finally time to start planning ahead for THE mission reunion of a lifetime. It has been 20 years since most of us have had the chance to share things like "You wouldn't believe what happened to me on my tour!" stories, stinky feet and spider vein prevention tips, and Golden Swirl. That's right... 20 YEARS! Can you believe it? Well, let's not make it 20 more years. Your reunion committee has been busy little elves over the past year and a half and we think we have some really special things for you to enjoy.

Come join us in what might be the most funnest free non-official race/mission memory tour (and training session for me) you might ever do. We lived "within walking distance of Temple Square" for fourteen months and had some good times. Let's relive some of them!


FRIDAY June 28, 2013 (4 p.m. - 10 p.m.)

Gather the hubby (or wife if you are one of our beloved senior couples), the kids, and yourself for some food and fun. This is the time when we get to share some of the most important people in our lives with some of the most important people in our lives. You decide which is which. Bring a camera to capture and share some of those memories when you get back home. Mingling starting at 4p.m. and chowing down at 5p.m.!

Friday is the FAMILY picnic
with yummy food!

  • Pulled Pork Sandwiches

  • Baked Beans and a Roll

  • Soda and Water


SATURDAY June 29, 2013
  • 9 a.m. Salt Lake Temple 
    • Saturday morning session at the Salt Lake Temple. All are welcome to attend. That means spouses ya'll. We will meet in the chapel after you have dressed in your white clothes.
  • Free Time/Sight Seeing around Salt Lake City or anywhere else you would like to go. Check out our recent post on sight seeing optionsThe time is yours, enjoy!
  • 2 pm Legacy: A Mormon Journey
    • A private screening just for us! It will be in the North Visitors Center, theater #5, 2 p.m. sharp! Quoting is allowed.
  • 4 pm Mission Picture
    • Please meet at the fountain between the JSMB and the COB for a big group mission photo. Bring your cameras! Should there be inclement weather we will take the picture after the dinner while inside the JSMB.
  • 6-9 pm Dinner at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building
  • Bring your cameras!
    • Temple Square missionary (no spouses unless they served on Temple Square with you) dinner at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in the Sharon/Manchester Room - on the 9th floor - overlooking Temple Square. 



SUNDAY June 30, 2013

Come listen to them sing!
  • 8:45 a.m. - 10 a.m. Music and the Spoken Word 
    • Enjoy the beauty of the choir in the Conference Center. One of our very own (Sister Anne-Marie SaintFelix) is a member.
    • We have reserved seating! Please meet at the Conference Center (DOOR 8) at 8:45 a.m.. Lloyd Newell will be recognizing us before the broadcast begins. As always, children under 8 will need to go to the Conference Center Theater.




But Temple Square Reunion Blog, how much can all of this fantasmagorical (name that leprechaun outside of the south gate) goodness possibly cost? It has to be priceless, right? Nope. We wish it were. But we think the reunion elves have done a great job in keeping costs low. Check it out!


The cost options for the reunion are as follows:

  • OPTION 1....$75 per sister/elder
    • Friday and Saturday Events includes...
      • Friday family picnic (whether you attend by yourself or with your entire family)
      •  Saturday (Temple Square missionaries only) dinner at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building
      • an official Temple Square Reunion t-shirt.
  • OPTION 2....$15 per family (whether you attend by yourself or with your entire family)
    • Friday Event ONLY includes...
      • Family Picnic ONLY
  • OPTION 3....$60 per sister/elder
    • Saturday Event ONLY includes...
      • Temple Square missionaries only dinner at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building
      • an official Temple Square Reunion t-shirt.
  • Senior Couples...$135 per senior couple
    • This includes...
      • Friday family picnic 
      • Saturday (Temple Square missionaries only) dinner at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building
      • Two official Temple Square Reunion t-shirts.
    • If you are attending the dinner only the cost will be $120.
      • This $120 cost includes...
        • Saturday (Temple Square missionaries only) dinner at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building
        • Two official Temple Square Reunion t-shirts.

As a committee we have decided not to use Pay Pal unless you live overseas. We are doing this to avoid fees, to keep a hard copy tracking system in place, and to generally make it easier on the sister who has taken this monumental task to hand. Thank you for understanding.
